Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of tasks on a variety of diesel engines and associated systems in the automotive retail, service, and repair industry.
Students who successfully complete this course may progress onto the AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or another related automotive course at Certificate IV level.
Successful completion of this qualification may provide career opportunities as diesel engine technicians.
Successfully completing this course does not guarantee a graduate will secure a relevant job.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
To gain entry to this course, students must have successfully completed year 12 or secondary studies in applicants home country equivalent to an Australian Year 11* or 12 qualifications. (*Subject to the country Assessment Level) and course.
Applicants for this qualification must have a minimum English language proficiency of IELTS 6.0 (overall band) with not less than 5.5 in any individual component or an equivalent exam result recognised by the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Applicants can also arrange to undertake an English language test with the Institute.
