Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)The Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure program is a general qualification for personnel engaged in basic operations within the rail infrastructure environment who undertake a range of tasks involving known routines and procedures.
This program will provide students with the skills to fill roles such as a track worker, track maintainer or track installer. This program is for individuals working in the danger zone on or about the track to implement track maintenance; conduct mandatory systematic inspections; examination; condition monitoring and functional checks on the rail infrastructure; and to take appropriate action to ensure rail infrastructure is in a safe operational condition. This can include recording and reporting of defective infrastructure to maintain a valid defect recording system.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
The role of a rail infrastructure worker requires students to have a Category 3 Rail Medical and CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry. The rail medical and construction induction course are not required to attend training and can be undertaken at any time prior to beginning work in the rail industry.
You must also have the right to live and work in Australia.
