Are you just getting started with horses? You could be a parent or partner of some-one with horses or would love to learn more about the magic of horses, but doing it safely and correctly. This course will teach you about horse behaviour, the way they think and the safest way to handle and care for them.

This course to introduce you to horses safely and correctly has been designed for full time study, over 12 weeks (14 weeks including holidays).

However, it could take less time if you already have previous experience with horses or plan to study for more than 23 hours per week plan to study full time.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.

To be accepted into this course, you should be:

  • fit and healthy enough to meet the practical requirements of this course
  • at least twelve (12) years of age to commence this course
  • completed equivalent to Year 7 (Queensland Education) OR equivalent to eight years full-time study in the English language OR equivalent to nine years full-time study in another language (with excellent reading, writing, speaking and listening English language skills and previous qualifications or extensive experience with horses).
