Cat 5/6/7 and Coax Endorsement

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)

This nationally accredited course is an extension of the ACMA Open Cabler Registration Training Requirements Course, and provides open cablers with the training, skills and knowledge required to correctly install and terminate category 5/6/7 structured and coaxial cabling.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.

To gain entry into this course, applicants must hold a current ACMA Open Cabler Registration or have attained the pre-requisite unit(s) of competency:

  • UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
  • UEECD0019 Fabricate, assemble and dismantle utilities industry components
  • UEECD0020 Fix and secure electrotechnology equipment
  • UEECD0051 Use drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes and specifications

and;

  • UEECD0043 Solve problems in direct current circuits OR
  • UEECD0044 Solve problems in multiple path circuits AND UEECD0046 Solve problems in single path circuits

About College of Electrical Training

CET is Western Australia’s largest provider of electrical training offering courses at pre-apprentice, apprenticeship and post trade levels.

Delivering to over 6,500 students annually across two campuses (Jandakot and Joondalup), and a regional Trade Training Centre (Bunbury), CET ensures all electrical training solutions are catered for including a range of pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs.

CET continues to provide the WA electrical and communications industry with the highest quality apprenticeship and post-trade training courses from state of the art campuses in Joondalup and Jandakot. In 2023, CET trained over half of all electrical apprentices in the state, with a completion rate of 91% - well above the national average. In 2023, CET caught up with over 10,000 potential students at our open days, school career evenings and at the two major Jobs and Skills Expos.
