As a security officer, the question of when to carry and use batons and handcuffs is a common one. The answer is simple – as long as you’ve received proper training, have authorization from your employer, and have a genuine reason such as patrolling or working alone during night shifts, you can carry and use these tools.
However, it’s important to note that they should not be used for crowd control, private investigations, debt collections, or when off duty.
