Nationally Recognised Higher EducationThe Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) is a full-time or part-time program that has been designed to enable students who have demonstrated substantial ability at an undergraduate level to develop their practical expertise and theoretical understanding to a more advanced level.
While studying Visual Arts (Honours), you'll have the ability to work on a project that you're passionate about and have the space and access to studios and equipment to explore that further.

Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
To be eligible for admission to this Honours program, consideration will be given to the following criteria:
- A GPA of at least 5.0 (credit level) over the second and third year of the Bachelor degree;
- have achieved a GPA of at least 5.0 in the major studio components of the second and third years of the undergraduate degree
- have completed 30 credit points in art theory in the second and third years of the undergraduate degree with a GPA of at least 5.0
- A suitable Research Proposal (please see questions in the QCAD Undergraduate Honours Research Proposal Guide) and the resources available to support the candidature.
- A portfolio of 6-10 images of your own work in any media (this can be sketches, work in progress, and/or completed work), accompanied by a short description for each work.
- The availability of an appropriate proposed supervisor. The confirmation of your Supervisor will be approved upon entry into the program.
- The preparedness of the applicant to undertake the degree in terms of the elapsed time since the prospective candidate qualified for the award of a Bachelor degree and the academic preparation provided by the Bachelor's degree for the candidate's proposed Dissertation topic.

Language requirements
- A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0
- OR a minimum score of 575 on TOEFL
- OR an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19)
- OR no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only)
- OR a minimum overall score of 176 (no score less than 169) on C1 Advanced (formerly Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English) or C2 Proficiency (formerly Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English)
- OR an overall score of 58 in the Pearson Test of English (Academic) with no score less than 50.
