In this major, you’ll learn and apply the science behind breeding high-yielding, pest-resistant crops to help farmers increase their productivity. You'll study ecology, plant pathology, plant physiology and plant biotechnology, and apply your knowledge to use plant-based sources to develop biofuels, medicines or healthier food products. Studying plant science can lead to rewarding career opportunities as a researcher, consultant or teacher with multinational companies, universities or government departments.
