Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Neuroscience)
Nationally Recognised Higher EducationThe Neuroscience Honours stream is run jointly by the School of Psychology and the School of Medical Sciences (SoMS). Neuroscience Honours facilitates interaction of the students with the broader neuroscience community at UNSW. The Neuroscience Honours stream is open to all students who majored in Neuroscience or who are eligible to enrol in Honours in the School of Psychology or School of Medical Science and have a background in disciplines allied to neuroscience (as evidenced, for example, by completion of NEUR courses).
The research project will be conducted under the supervision of an academic in SoMS or Psychology, or with a conjoint member of those schools from an Institute such as NeuRA or the Garvan. You should speak with one or more supervisors before submitting your application form.

Admission Requirements and Process
Students are expected to have completed the requirements for a three year full-time undergraduate Bachelor degree - typically these are a minimum overall WAM (weighted average mark) of a credit, and a completed major within the desired honours discipline.
To apply for admission to Honours, students should contact the relevant School for information on research projects, available supervisors, and entry requirements. Once student's have located a suitable supervisor, they should lodge an application for Honours to the School by the advertised deadlines. Deadlines for these are found on the School's webpages. Students who have not completed their undergraduate degree at UNSW, or who completed their undergraduate degree at least 6 months beforehand, will need to lodge two applications: one to the relevant School, and another to the UNSW Admissions Office
English language requirements
You may be asked to provide evidence of your English proficiency to study at UNSW depending on your educational background and citizenship. English language skills are vitally important for coping with lectures, tutorials, assignments and examinations - this is why UNSW requires a minimum English language competency for enrolment.
If you’re completing an Australian Year 12 qualification (e.g. NSW HSC or equivalent), you do not need to provide anything extra to prove your proficiency. Your qualification will be used as evidence of your English proficiency.
