Develop the skills to respond to urgent problems and make a positive social impact Through the study of politics, you'll enhance your knowledge of political institutions and their history. Analyse who is disadvantaged by existing institutions, and identify what opportunities exist for creative policy development. Take subjects in philosophy that explore the debates around human rights and justice. Refine your critical thinking and logical reasoning skills and consider how our conceptions of self are informed by society.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.

Prerequisite
VCE: Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.
Selection criteria
You may satisfy the academic requirements by completing the STAT multiple choice if you:
- are not currently studying an Australian Year 12 (or equivalent)
- have no prior secondary school (Year 12), VET studies, HE studies, or relevant work experience that can be considered for entry, or
- do not meet the minimum academic requirements for the program.
I’m an applicant with higher education study and/or vocational education and training (VET) study
Prerequisite
Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
I’m an applicant with work and life experience
Selection criteria
A study score of 30 in Physical Education or any Science equals 4 aggregate points per study. A study score of 25 in Health And Human Development or any Mathematics equals 4 aggregate points per study. A study score of 20 in any LOTE equals 4 aggregate points per study. Overall maximum of 12 points.
