Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
You can apply for this course if you meet all of the following entry requirements:
- You have intermediate knowledge of music theory and concepts as demonstrated by Band 4 or above in HSC Music (or equivalent) or Grade 4 of the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) (or equivalent), or completion of the UNE online music theory placement test.
- You can demonstrate experience in performance or composition through Band 4 or above in HSC Music (or equivalent) or Grade 6 of the AMEB (or equivalent) or submitting a performance video or composition portfolio of two contrasting works.
- You can satisfy the Music discipline of your suitability for studying music through the completion of a Personal Statement assessed by the discipline within six months prior to the date of enrolment.
English Language Requirements
When applying you may be required to show how you satisfy the English Language Requirements for this course.
Assumed Knowledge
By applying for this course, we assume that you have sound knowledge of any 2 units of English studied at a Year 12 level (or overseas equivalent).
