Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry)
Nationally Recognised Higher EducationDesigned as an educational pathway for registered nurses, this course will enable you to gain a midwifery qualification and work as a Registered Midwife in a variety of health care settings.
The Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) aims to provide Australian Registered Nurses with the theoretical, practical, and research knowledge required to be competent and effective Registered Midwives.
During your course, you will benefit from innovative teaching strategies that meet Australian national standards and integrates extensive practical experience into your learning. The clinical placements will prepare you to keep pace with the complex demands of today's ever-evolving health care industry in the region that you live in.
You will progressively develop a woman-centred approach to midwifery practice underpinned by cultural safety, evidence-informed practice, collaborative partnerships, and intra/inter-professional relationships founded in primary health care principles.

Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse; and
A completed Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), or equivalent, Bachelor of Nursing qualification.

About Central Queensland University
Originally founded in Rockhampton in 1967, as the Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) Capricornia, CQUniversity Australia was granted full University status in 1992 and now has more than 30 000 students studying online and on-campus across Australia.
