Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours)
Nationally Recognised Higher EducationThis program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to undertake advanced study and supervised research work in the specialisation defined by their undergraduate degree program within the context of a multidisciplinary cohort. The research skills developed within this program will provide an attractive credential for students seeking employment in the public or private sectors. The program will also provide the necessary preparation for entry into a higher degree research program. The multidisciplinary context of the program, involving team-teaching of students and the sharing of coursework and seminar experiences across disciplines will be invaluable to students given the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to researchers and practitioners seeking to understand complex problems in health.

Admission Requirements:
The University's Bachelor Honours Degree (AQF Level 8) Policy will apply. To be eligible for admission to this Honours program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Successful completion of the Griffith Bachelor of Medical Science or an equivalent qualification from another university
- A GPA of at least 5.0 for the second and third year level courses of the Bachelor degree
The Program Director will consider the following factors during the assessment of applications:
- The suitability of the proposed dissertation topic, the resources available to support the candidature, and the availability of appropriate supervision
- The preparedness of the applicant to undertake the degree, considering the elapsed time since qualifying for the award of a Bachelor degree and the academic preparation provided by the Bachelor degree for the candidate's proposed dissertation topic
English Language Requirements:
English language requirements apply to applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for entry to this program are as follows:
- A minimum overall band score of 7.0 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.5
- OR a minimum score of 580 on TOEFL
- OR an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 92 (no score less than 22)
- OR no score less than 4 in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only)
- OR a minimum overall score of 185 (no score less than 176) on C2 Proficiency (formerly Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English)
- OR an overall score of 65 in the Pearson Test of English (Academic) with no score less than 58
English test results must be no more than two years old.
