Your courses will cover computer science, software engineering, design and information systems, and you'll collaborate with teachers involved in specialist research areas including complex and intelligent systems, security and surveillance, and interaction design.
You can also link your research project with an industry placement to further develop your communication skills, independence, creativity and professional ethics.

Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science
If you hold a qualification other than the Bachelor of Information Technology from UQ, you must have successfully completed all of the following discipline content in your tertiary studies:
- algorithms and data structures
- programming, or programming in C or C++ or java (and/or software engineering or object-oriented programming (OOP)
- discrete mathematics
- web/mobile programming or web design
- information systems or database systems
- human-computer interaction
You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.
A bachelor's degree awarded more than 5 years prior to admission will not be considered.
