Entry Requirements
To be eligible, students must be at least 17 years of age.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of this higher education program, you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment. This will assist with determining your suitability to the course, and identify any learning support needs.
Applicants with Recent Secondary Education (within the past two years)
This course uses the ATAR as part of its selection consideration.
An applicant may be admitted to the course after completing VCE with the following:
• Units 3 and 4 English Language with a study score of at least 20, OR English as an Additional Language (EAL) with a study score of at least 25.
For these three applicant types:
Applicants with Higher Education Study
Applicants with Vocational Education and Training (VET) Study
Applicants with Work and Life experience
The following entry requirements apply:
Your entire academic record will be considered
You will also be required to attend a 30-minute interview where your suitability for enrolment will be determined.
You should bring supporting documentation for review, which could include:
a personal CV outlining your relevant work and life experience
letters of reference from employers
documents relating to prior study, including course and subject transcripts, and course and subject outline documents.
The Computing and IT Department will contact you to arrange an interview time, once you have applied.

Holmesglen requires learners to be able to:
switch on a computer
save and organise files
send and read emails
follow instructions to instal software/applications.
Pathways into the course
Applicants who already hold a certificate, diploma or higher qualification in an IT field will be offered an admissions pathway into the Bachelor of Information Systems.
Advanced Standing will be considered for applicants who have:
been awarded an IT diploma or higher in the last 5 years
have more than 2 years’ experience working in the IT industry.
Applicants seeking advanced standing need to apply to enrol. The Computing and IT Department will contact you to arrange an interview to review your Advanced Standing application. During the 30-minute interview, you will be asked to submit evidence of qualifications and/or work experience in the IT field.

qualification documents
qualification transcripts
original course and subject outlines
work position descriptions or a CV
proof of employment
a letter of reference from your employer
