You'll gain a deeper understanding of research theory, design and practice principles introduced in your undergraduate degree. You'll study advanced issues in health and complete tailored health research methodology subjects. To apply your research knowledge and skills, you'll undertake an original research project under the supervision of La Trobe's expert staff to produce evidence-based solutions. By graduating with Honours, you'll not only gain an edge in an increasingly competitive job market, you'll also have the opportunity to advance to further coursework or research at Master's level or, for high achievers, direct entry into a PhD.

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.

Academic entry requirement:

Australian Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant study area. Students must obtain a minimum average of 65 per cent. Meeting this requirement, however, does not guarantee a place in the Honours year as resources may limit the total number of places available.

Honours in your major:

You may be eligible to complete Honours in a major completed as part of your undergraduate degree. Your eligibility is subject to the availability and agreement of a suitable supervisor for the major and you meeting the entry requirements specific to that major. English language requirement:

7.0 IELTS (Academic) with no individual band less than 6.5.
