Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil Engineering)

Civil engineers plan, design, build, and maintain the infrastructure we rely on as a civilization – including buildings, roads, and water systems. This program develops practical skills in engineering design, project management, and sustainability, qualifying you to work as a civil engineer in Australia and overseas.
In this program you will:
- Learn to use mathematical and scientific principles to solve a range of technical problems
- Experience a broad array of courses covering areas like design, sustainability, modeling, and management and leadership
- Manage a major final-year research project on a topic of your choice
- Learn from industry professionals through guest lectures that expose you to current engineering professional practice
- Recreate interactive real-life scenarios in UniSC's state-of-the-art visualisation studio and dedicated engineering laboratories
- Get hands-on experience through 12 weeks of work experience

English (Units 3 and 4, C)
Recommended prior study
Maths Methods and/or Specialist Maths; and Physics or Chemistry
Headstart Program - Year 11 or 12
The Headstart program lets you study uni subjects while you’re still in high school. If you successfully complete two Headstart courses, you’ll get a selection rank that you could use to get into uni.
Early Offer Guarantee scheme - Year 12
The Early Offer Guarantee scheme enables Year 12 students to be offered a place at USC on the basis of their Principal's recommendation.
Previous qualifications or experience
If you:
- have completed Year 12 (no matter how long ago)
- have a TAFE/VET qualification
- have relevant work experience, or
- have studied at university before (even if you didn’t complete your studies)
English Language entry requirements
- IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each subtest
- TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 76 with minimum score of 18 for writing
- Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score of 50 with no subscore less than 50
- C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency: Overall score of 169 or above with no less than 162 in each skill
