We need civil engineers to design and build higher-capacity transportation systems. We need them to construct larger commercial and industrial complexes. We need them for water supply and pollution control. And we need them to repair or replace roads, bridges and other structures.

Subject prerequisites
All applicants must satisfy the following prerequisites or their equivalents.
Australian VCE subjects
English
- Units 3 & 4: a study score of at least 27 in English (EAL) or 25 in English other than EAL
Maths
- Units 3 & 4: a study score of at least 25 in Mathematical Methods or Specialist mathematics
Sciences/Other
- Units 3 & 4: a study score of at least 25 in Chemistry or Physics

This course uses the entire academic record as part of its selection considerations. All applicants must satisfy the equivalence of the VCE subject prerequisites.

This course uses the entire academic record as part of its selection considerations.
- Applicants with an achieved ATAR of less than 80.00 or equivalent need to have completed one year of equivalent full-time study load (1 EFTSL) or 48 credit points of bachelor level study with a minimum 60% average.
- Applicants with an achieved ATAR of above 80.00 or equivalent need to have completed six months of equivalent full-time study load (0.5 EFTSL) or 24 credit points of bachelor level study with a minimum 60% average.
All applicants must satisfy the equivalence of the VCE subject prerequisites. If you have not met the course prerequisites at Monash or via an Australian Year 12, IB or A Levels you will need to provide unit outlines/syllabus for the prerequisite assessment. Prerequisites must be completed within the past 10 years.
