Nationally Recognised Higher EducationThe Bachelor of Criminal Justice and Criminology is the only degree of its type in Victoria, focusing on both the causes of crime (criminology) and the fallout of crime (criminal justice). You’ll learn about local and global criminality, traditional approaches and responses to crime, and emerging trends and practices.
You’ll examine the international dimensions of criminal justice as well as the technological advances that impact the sector, including an emphasis on predicting the commission of crime, detecting and stopping criminal behaviour, and implementing effective and efficient criminal sanctions.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Successful completion of Australian Year 12, or equivalent overseas qualification.
VCE Units 3 and 4: a minimum study score of 25 in any English (except EAL) or 30 in English as Alternate Language (EAL) or equivalent. For applicants of the 2021 Early Entry Program, a minimum study score of 20 in any English (except EAL).
Satisfactory completion of one of the following:
- IELTS overall band of 6.0 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
- Swinburne’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 65%, all skills 65%
- or equivalent measures available.
