Bachelor of Communication (Honours)

Graduates of the Bachelor of Communication or equivalent program may undertake a further year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) study. The program aims to produce graduates who have a well-developed capacity to think critically and creatively about communication and media professions and their relationship with research into professional practice. This degree further prepares students for careers in communication as well as providing a pathway into Research Higher degree study.

Entry requirements

Domestic Students

  • There are no mandated entry requirements.

Admission Requirements:

Eligibility for admission to this program is based on applicants having completed a Bachelor degree in a cognate area with a minimum GPA of 5.0:

  • Across all studies undertaken within the program; or
  • Across a major in the proposed area of study; or
  • Across 80 units of 3000 level courses (which must include at least 40 units of 3000 level courses in the major where a major exists); or
  • Where the applicant has completed less than 80 units at 3000 level, a GPA of 5.0 calculated from at least 60 units of 3000 level courses (which includes at least 40 units of 3000 level courses in the major where a major exists).

In exceptional circumstances, an application that does not meet the above requirements may be considered.

English Language Requirements:

All applicants must demonstrate that they meet the University’s English proficiency requirement.

  • IELTS Sub Test Minimum: 6
