Bachelor of Arts (Honours) (English)
Nationally Recognised Higher EducationThe Bachelor of Arts honours year is both a preparation for postgraduate study and a capstone to an undergraduate degree. Honours can culminate your formal education, hone your research abilities, and helps you to develop personal and professional skills. This course may be suitable for undergraduate students with one major. Honours can also be the first step on a path to a career as an academic or professional researcher.
English Honours
The fourth year honours program in English consists of a thesis of 15,000 words, completion of three 4000-level seminar units and participation in the mid-year Honours Conference.
An honours year in English allows you to specialise further in your area of interest. It offers students the opportunity to work independently and creatively in a community of scholars that includes both their peers and the staff of the department. A number of honours graduates each year continue on to postgraduate study in Australia or abroad.

Domestic Students
- IELTS score of 6.50 or TOEFL iBT score of 85.00 or PTE score of 61.00 or its equivalent AND
- completed a major in the intended subject area with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70% or above
