You don't need to have any prior knowledge or to have studied French at high school. You could study Introductory French 1 & 2, Language Awareness & Cross-Cultural Competence for the Global Workplace, Second Language Learning and, Cinema in French. Many graduates use their language competency to enhance their employability in fields such as business, education, tourism and politics.

Our subject prerequisites are listed as Queensland Year 12 General subjects, but you can also meet them by passing equivalent subjects through:
- Australian high school, including Queensland Senior, interstate Year 12 or International Baccalaureate (IB)
- Overseas high school or International Baccalaureate (IB)
- Tertiary study, including university subjects, and bridging and preparatory programs./li>
- Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent)
- General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C)
- IB 24.5 & AQF Level 7
