Assist clients with medication
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This short course is designed for support workers who require the skills and knowledge required to prepare and provide medication assistance and complete medication documentation. This short course also involves supporting a client to self-administer medication. It is best suited to support workers who are employed or who are otherwise able to demonstrate competency in a suitable workplace.

Enrolment Options
Option 1
Participants complete our online course and receive a Certificate of Completion. This option does not require completion of the Workplace Observation assessment and is ideal for those seeking a professional development course without the nationally recognised unit of competency.
Option 2
Participants complete a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medications. This option requires participants to complete all assessment requirements. Participants seeking a Statement of Attainment must have access to a suitably qualified workplace supervisor (i.e. Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse) who will verify competency prior to completing the short course.
The short course is offered online on our Open Learning course site or in a blended campus delivery mode. In the blended delivery mode, participants complete theoretical knowledge in a self-paced mode, followed by 8 hours of clinical simulation and practice and an assessment with our qualified Assessor in your workplace.
