Fee-Free TAFE (NT) is a government-led initiative offering eligible individuals in the Northern Territory the chance to pursue a fully accredited diploma, certificate qualification, or short course without any cost.
This program is designed to address the skill gaps in crucial employment areas, thereby enhancing job opportunities. It prioritizes Indigenous Australians, unpaid carers, young adults, women, people with disabilities, and the unemployed.
A wide range of qualifications is available, especially in sectors experiencing rapid growth such as aged care, hospitality, nursing and healthcare, information technology, construction, agriculture, childcare, disability support, and the manufacturing sector.
To qualify for the Fee-Free TAFE (NT) program, you need to be a minimum of 15 years old and a resident (or employed) within the NT. You also must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident (or hold an approved visa) and not currently enrolled in school.
It’s important to note that training is not limited to TAFE; there are several eligible Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) approved to deliver these qualifications for free.
