Fee-Free TAFE (ACT) is a governmental scheme designed to provide eligible ACT residents with the opportunity to obtain a fully accredited diploma, certificate qualification, or short course at no cost.
This exciting initiative targets vital career areas experiencing skill shortages, offering excellent job prospects. It gives priority to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, unpaid carers, young individuals, women, people with disabilities, and those who are unemployed.
An array of qualifications is available, particularly in rapidly growing sectors such as aged care, hospitality, nursing and healthcare, IT, construction, agriculture, childcare, disability support, and manufacturing.
Eligibility for the Fee-Free TAFE (ACT) program requires you to be at least 15 years old and a resident (or employed) in the ACT. You must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or hold an approved visa, and not be currently attending school.
Importantly, your training doesn't have to be completed with TAFE ACT alone; numerous eligible Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) are also authorised to provide these free qualifications.
