The MSMWHS216 Operate Breathing Apparatus provides training in safely operating and maintaining breathing apparatus and equipment in environments where the air is not suitable for breathing, according to AS/NZS 1715:2009 standards. The unit covers skills and knowledge necessary to use breathing apparatus in confined spaces, with hazardous gases/vapours, or in oxygen-deficient atmospheres. It applies to individuals who may work alone or as part of a team, coordinating with shift members and control room operators as needed.
