The HLTENN040 Administer and Monitor Medicines and Intravenous Therapy is a nationally recognised short course for enrolled nurses who need the skills to correctly deliver medications and IV fluids. Competencies include: understanding drugs and poison classifications, identifying pharmacology and substance incompatibilities, preparing patients for medication and infusion of IV fluids, calculating correct dosage and IV infusion rates, preparing blood for transfusions, keeping medicines safe during dosage, documenting and monitoring patient responses.
