The Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Marine Engine Driver Grade 3 Near Coastal) (MAR20418) is for anyone needing the formal qualification to work as a ship engineer on vessels in Australian waters. This nationally recognised qualification is completed over a 4-week intensive at an advanced marine training facility, and graduates can apply to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority for their Marine engine driver grade 2 near coastal. During your training you’ll be learning how to maintain and repair ship engines, propulsion, fuel and electrical systems — as well as respond to emergencies at sea.
