Train Driver

A Train Driver operates passenger or freight trains within a rail system. You’ll drive a designated rail line and will usually stop at stations to pick up or drop off passengers or freight. Train Drivers work with a strict timetable and may drive local routes or long distances. You’ll follow track signals and respond to electronic communication and instructions.

Train Drivers should have strong situational awareness abilities and must be able to respond quickly to changes in circumstances. It’s important you can communicate clearly and work well as part of a team. Train Drivers should be safety focused and be able to follow correct procedures at all times. You’ll need to be able to remain calm during stressful situations.
