Sustainable Farmer

A Sustainable Farmer works on an agricultural operation using farming practices that protect the property from long term environmental impacts. You’ll work in a range of agricultural industries but will carry out your duties using sustainable principles and practices. Sustainable Farmers usually make use of natural systems based on ecological patterns to manage their farm. You’ll be dedicated to harvesting your product without having a negative effect on the environment.

A Sustainable Farmer must be passionate about farming but also about protecting ecological systems. You’ll spend a lot of time outdoors and need to be prepared to work in a range of weather conditions. Sustainable farming can involve a lot of manual labour and heavy lifting and you’ll often work very long days. You’ll need a strong understanding of how sustainable farming works and how to create a quality product using these principles.
