Room Assistant

A Room Assistant looks after babies and young children at a childcare centre or early learning facility. You’ll supervise children and assist with daily routines such as eating and toileting. Room Assistants provide help with educational activities and other parts of a regular program. You’ll liaise with families and provide information on their child’s day.

Room Assistants should enjoy working with children and have excellent interpersonal skills. It’s important you can work as part of a team and follow correct procedures. Room Assistants should have good communication skills and be able to work with young children, colleagues and families. You’ll need to be patient and understanding in this role.
