A Photojournalist captures photos of news events for publication online or in a newspaper or magazine. You might attend a range of activities each day and use various photography techniques. Photojournalists may have their own freelance photography business or be employed by a media organisation. You’ll work closely with journalists and other media colleagues.

Photojournalists should be flexible and able to attend news events quickly. You should be creative and have highly developed photography skills. Photojournalists often work irregular hours including nights, weekends and public holidays. It’s important you can use a range of photography software to produce your images.
