Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Paediatric Occupational Therapists are registered health professionals who help children who are affected by illness, injury, disability, or mental health issues manage everyday tasks and daily living. They provide treatment, and support plans for children to apply at home, school, or in social situations.

As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist you could be carrying out an initial assessment on a young amputee that includes both their challenges and their strengths, developing a treatment plan for a teenage boy with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), demonstrating an exercise to a young child in a wheelchair as part of physical rehabilitation, teaching a young teen with a spinal injury about proactive pain control, writing a report on a client’s progress, or liaising with a client’s psychologist to refine the child’s treatment plan.
