Naval Architect

A Naval Architect creates and designs ships and other marine vessels. You might be involved in the production of new vessels and you may design specialist marine craft to suit a range of circumstances. Naval Architects may specialise in a particular type of vessel such as yachts or large ships. You may liaise with owners or other industry professionals during the design process.

Naval Architects should be creative and be able to come up with innovative solutions to a range of problems. It’s important you can understand client needs and communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders. Naval Architects must have excellent technical abilities and be able to adapt their skills to suit various circumstances.
