Casting Agent

Casting Agents, also known as talent agents, find actors, singers, dancers, models, and extras to work in films, stage productions, television, commercials, and other screen media. Actors, models, and performers will send you portfolios and performance samples for you to review and consider, you’ll then spend time interviewing and screening potential candidates.

As a casting agent you will also develop relationships with casting directors and other studio executives who initiate ‘casting calls’ for upcoming productions. You’ll then represent your performers by trying to secure an audition for them.

It’s an extremely busy occupation and you’ll spend lots of time on the phone, in meetings, and answering emails, so you’re going to need outstanding time-management skills.
