Assistant Chaplain

An Assistant Chaplain helps deliver counselling and religious guidance to people experiencing a difficult time. You might arrange appointments and speak with clients to determine their needs. Assistant Chaplains often work with other religious professionals or refer people to community support systems when required. You might work at a hospital, prison, school or residential care facility.

Assistant Chaplains should be excellent communicators who can understand the individual needs of clients. You’ll need to be a good listener and have strong interpersonal skills. Assistant Chaplains need to be organised and may have to perform a range of administrative skills.
