Animal Technician

An Animal Technician cares for animals used in facilities such as research laboratories or agricultural facilities. You might monitor animal health and observe changes in behaviour. Animal Technicians make sure animals are fed and have appropriate enrichment activities. You may perform various procedures on animals as required.

Animal Technicians should have good animal handling skills and be able to work in a team environment. It’s important you can work with instructions and follow correct procedures. Animal Technicians must be organised and able to manage their time well. You’ll need keen attention to detail in this role.
