General Managers have a range of tasks including finances, human resources, customer service and sales. Depending on the size of your operation, you might take care of the overall vision for the organisation or you may be more hands on with your daily work.

Higher education pathways

A Diploma of Leadership and Management is an excellent way to progress your business career. You might choose to further extend your skills with an Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management or specialise your career with a Diploma of Human Resources Management. You could also consider a Certificate IV in Project Management or a Diploma of Business Administration.

If you decide to further your management career you could enrol in a university degree such as a Bachelor of Business and Commerce (Management and Leadership) or a Bachelor of Organisational Leadership.
